Mind, Body, & Soul

It’s 2013 and the world is swimming in new goals. Most of us out there have set some new ambitious standards for ourselves, and we’ve got 360+ days left to live up to them. Before the full weight of 2013 sets in (I apologize if it already has for you), I want to encourage you to focus on mind, body, and soul each and every day. Achieving and sustaining a sense of balance and accomplishment in your goals will come from paying attention to each of those three elements daily.

For me, working in something from each category on a daily basis makes a huge difference in my ability to keep a Red Shoes perspective.

Mind Career work, sharpening the saw, staying engaged

Body Eating healthy, working out, going for a walk, sleeping

Soul Personal satisfaction and enrichment—family and social relationships, volunteer work, religious worship, meditation, journal writing, noting one positive moment in each day

If you do all three in one way or another, each and every day, at least you’ll be on the path of a balanced journey—even with all hell breaking loose around you.
